I wish to offer an update to all on the silentlambs email list.  I have recently added those who posted on the guestbook and left their email.  If you prefer to not be on the sl list let me know and I will be glad to remove your email address. 

 

I had a long conversation with the producer of dateline.  The program is going forward at this time.  The plane crash had no effect as far as slowing down the process as it appears to be more general news.  It looks strongly that this will go before the end of the year perhaps even in early December.  As far as the story is concerned I can give you one interesting tidbit.  There are not any df or da persons on the program.  All are witnesses in good standing.  It is true many have stopped attending meetings, yet when you hear how they were treated you will understand why. It will be difficult for WT to say it is an apostate program as not one person associated attacks church doctrine.  Instead they attack WT policy on how they hurt children. 

 

I have been quiet lately as the UN situation seems to be taking a lot of air time on many boards.  Yet things are in the works.  I wish to ask for your assistance in developing the following projects:

 

1. Press contacts. When dateline airs there will be many opportunities to speak to the press in your local area about this problem.  If you wish to speak out on this matter please send me your name, state, and telephone number.  This will be held in confidence and not posted anywhere.  When reporters call I would like to give them victims to talk to in their area.  This will make the story much stronger and more likely to be printed in local newspapers.  If you have sent me this information please do so again as I wish to have a current list of those who are willing to speak.  It is your courage that will make wt policy change to protect children.

 

2. As you may recall in the late 1980's a WT article ran about children who sacrificed their lives over the blood issue.  Their pictures were posted on the front page of the article.  This gives me an idea for silentlambs website.  We are going to put up a special page. 

 

JEHOVAH WITNESS CHILDREN HARMED BY WT POLICY

 

For all those who I have talked to or those who want to be a part of this I would like a picture you when you were a child.   If you can scan the picture direct that will be fine also.  We will put up the picture along with just the initials.  A picture is worth a thousand words.  For the public to see the faces of those who have been hurt it will have a tremendous impact.  You may email pictures to us at: info@silentlambs.org or send it to us at silentlambs, PO Box 311, Calvert City, KY 42029.  

 

3. I am working on a video documentary of those who have been hurt.  This will offer a simple format for you to give your experience on your video camera and send it in.  I am working on a script to follow which will keep matters simple.  Yet the world needs to know how victims feel about what happened, how they were treated, and more importantly how it affected their life.  This will mean so much to help others see they are not alone and they can speak out about the evil that was perpetrated against them.  Let WT look you in the eye and say there is nothing wrong with their policy.  

The use of these videos can serve several functions.  1. An archive to document what is wrong with wt policy. 2. Segments could be used on the website to help this become more real to those who say they do not see a problem. 3. An official silentlambs video that could feature excerpts from these videos that could be distributed to help others to come forward and also see the extent of the problem.  It could also be used as a community service to assist the public in offering pressure to WT to change their policy.

 

These are just a few thoughts I have on this matter, I of course am open to suggestion as to how to have the most positive effect.

 

As I mentioned earlier other things are in the works.  If you wish to be more involved in helping with the silentlambs issue, please let me know as I believe the opportunity will present itself where we need all the help we can get.  I am truly saddened at the position WT has chosen to take, but if they want it the hard way we are well prepared to do so.  This matter is about children.  Children who were raped and will be raped as a result of WT policy.  WT policy must change.

 

I would like to leave you with an expression used by Confucius.  He said, "If I feel in my heart that I am wrong. I must stand in fear even though my opponent is the least formidable of men.  But if my heart tells me that I am right, I shall go forward even against thousands and tens of thousands."

 

As witnesses we were taught to stand up and be willing to die for what is right.  In this matter you should feel no fear for in our hearts we know it is right to stand up for children.  Wt will fail in this matter for they know they are wrong.
